About This Hunt
Hunt Country
The country covers a very large area in Staffordshire.
Adjoining Hunts: to the south west the North Shropshire; to the west the
Cheshire
; to the
north west
the
Cheshire
Forest
; to the north and east the Staffordshire Moorland; to the south west
the Meynell and South Staffs; and to the south the Albrighton.
Hunt History
In July 1899, 23 couple of hounds were presented by the
Duke of Sutherland to the country, and the remainder by Colonel W.W.
Dobson in 1926. Mr. C. Wicksted hunted part of the country from 1826
with his own hounds; then followed an interregnum until 1842, when
William Davenport started a pack which in 1845 became the North
Staffordshire Hunt. The country as now constituted has existed since
that date.

Never forget
The myth of the Gorgian knot dates back to the days of
Alexander the Great, whose conquests between 336 and 323 BC covered Asia Minor,
Syria, Egypt, Babylonia and Persia. As the story goes, King Gordius of Phrygia
tied a knot that was so intricate it could not be unravelled. Alexander learned
through an oracle that the next ruler of Asia would be the man who was able to
undo this knot. Drawing his blade, Alexander sliced through the famous knot,
solving the riddle with the edge of his sword. Today we face another tangled
knot. It is called The War On Terrorism, it is a war that we must win for
the generations to come. It is a war that will take a different type of
sword to destroy, including the use of types of prisons and tactics not used
under there normal guise.

Arthur
Griffith founded Sinn Fein, Irelands oldest political movement and the
front for the terrorist groups such as the IRA, which our government is
now negotiating with and helping to fund via parliamentary salaries to
members that don't turn up or function. That's the same people who
murdered hundreds of innocent women and children. |
