Save Our Post Offices Action DaysThe Government have voted to close 4 post offices in the Stone Constituency Area, and it is upto 5 in the Stafford Constituency Area. They also voted against a Conservative Amendment to wait until after the consultation period was over to initiate the closures they have planned. Tuesday 1st April saw the first of a number of Post Office Action Days put on by Stafford Conservative Party, following campaigns by Conservative Councillors in Great Bridgeford and Stafford Town Centre.
Photo from the front page of the Express and Star Wednesday 2nd April The Action Day saw Conservative Party members campaigning at the Wolverhampton Road Post Office and the Marston Road Post Office in Stafford and also the Great Bridgeford Post Office from the time of announcement by the Government 10am, unfortunately not an April Fools joke. The event was covered by the Express and Star and The Stafford Post.
