Save Our Post Offices Action Days

The Government have voted to close 4 post offices in the Stone Constituency Area, and it is upto 5 in the Stafford Constituency Area.  They also voted against a Conservative Amendment to wait until after the consultation period was over to initiate the closures they have planned.

Tuesday 1st April saw the first of a number of Post Office Action Days put on by Stafford Conservative Party, following campaigns by Conservative Councillors in Great Bridgeford and Stafford Town Centre.

The Action Day saw Conservative Party members campaigning at the Wolverhampton Road Post Office and the Marston Road Post Office in Stafford and also the Great Bridgeford Post Office from the time of announcement by the Government 10am, unfortunately not an April Fools joke.

The event was covered by the Express and Star and The Stafford Post.

Stone (second day) and Walton (fourth day) Save Our Post Office Action Day - Saturday 19th April. Combined action day with both the area's CF and also councillors from the Borough and Town Councils.  Click here for information supplied to the newspapers before the event to try and ensure people were made aware of the Action Day.
